Hi -
I tried to post a photo in the gallery for the first time. It seemed straightforward enough, but I got this error message:

Error creating thumbnail! Error code: 11

Command:

"/usr/bin/mogrify" +profile "*" -size 78x100 -quality 70 -geometry 78x100 -unsharp 10 '/home/wwwrubb/public_html/forums/gallery/data/500/thumbs/IMG_0927_April_07_swap_fm_me.jpg'

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Kate

Well your error isn't showing up in the Admin log on my end. Can you try uploading a different photo for me? In the mean time I'm checking into the error code you gave me.

Thanks for the reply, Amy. I just tried with a different image (though edited and saved the same way as the first), same error:

Error creating thumbnail! Error code: 11

Command:

"/usr/bin/mogrify" +profile "*" -size 100x77 -quality 70 -geometry 100x77 -unsharp 10 '/home/wwwrubb/public_html/forums/gallery/data/509/thumbs/IMG_0842_deer_woods_small.jpg'

Hmmm... I have also had trouble recently posting photos to a yahoo stamping group. They are just little JPEGs, nothing I know of that should be causing trouble. I've no idea why it's not working.

An you tell me what the file size is for your jpg?

First one was 44kb, second one was 58kb.

Can you give me the pixel dimensions too?

First one was 200 x 256, second one was 259 by 200.

They started off as large photos (digital camera) and I resized them to the above. I also saved them at 150 dpi (started at 250 but thought that was overkill for the web?) as well as taking the pixel dimensions from approx 2000 x 3000 to the above.

Are they still too big???

PS - what sizes (kb, pixels, dpi) are others here posting successfully???

FYI, you can save anything for the web at 72 dpi. It will look the same and save your disc space. But your 150 dpi isn't the problem. I'm not sure what is. I have the maximums set as file size 200kb and max dimensions 720 x 720. Just for fun, can you try emailing me one of your pics so I can try to load it myself? beeswaxrs@aol.com

Just sent you both pics, Amy. Thanks for trying to help me figure this out. I'm quite perplexed!

Hi Amy,
I finally got one to post, but only after editing it with a different program. (I used ArcSoft Photo Studio for the ones that weren't posting.) Edited/resized it in photoshop instead (which I don't know how to use well, but I seem to have figured out crop and resize at least!), and then was able to post one. Hmmm, weird. I still don't see why the others wouldn't post, but at least I was able to figure out something!

Thanks for the help, let me know if you figure anything out about why I was haivng trouble with the other ones, as that editing program is much simpler to use!

That program may be easier but something is way funky with it. Maybe someone else knows something so I'll explain. Kate is resizing her pics in the software she got with her Cannon camera. She saves it as a jpg on her end but when she emailed the pics to me they were a text document. I'm sure the same is happening when she is uploading to the gallery. It won't accept it because the file is strange. I suggested using any other software program, even Paint in the Accessories just to get it saved as a real jpg. Anyone know why this happens to her files? We have a Cannon software program somewhere but when our hard drive died we didn't reload it on our computer.
