I'm looking for future ATC theme input and ideas. What would you all like to see in the way of themes. List them here or pm me in you would rather. A couple I've been thinking about are:

Black and white bold graphics - seems to be big in fashion right now so why not on an ATC

Photo stamp ATCs, I have several ATC size photo stamp but even if yours are larger, bet they could be cut down and a portion of it used on an ATC.

Lets brainstorm and see what we come up with for the next few months ATC swaps. Heck I'll bet Alsmouse and Lillibet might even be keeping an eye on this one for the swaps they host too, which is great too. What can I say, as a swap hostess I am not too proud to ask for help. Heck there are way too many amazingly creative minds around here not to, that would be just plain foolish.

I've been thinking about making ATCs that say/show something about where we live. i.e. Mine could have the Space Needle or mountains or slugs or fish. Get it? :D

How about scenic? (For example, use 3 or more stamps to create a miniature scene, or use a larger scenery stamp - all of it or a portion of it -if you prefer. The subject of the scene could be open, or it could be on a specific theme like spring, summer, the ocean, the great outdoors, wildlife, camping, home sweet home, etc.)

:D

How about a ATC Swap that is based off our screen name or represents who we are as a way of sharing as well?

What about doing them with moveable parts? I have done a couple...what about everyone trying it?

Or a child's theme? Maybe even one about kids.

Well dear thank you for thinking of me ...
Lets see I love cows and I'd love to see a swap of atc's with just cows...

Also I have a atc that I sort of created from a hand stamped greeting card I received once and well i put my thinking cap on and said why can't i shrink this down to make a atc.. Well Its sort of a accordian fold book atc and even got window openings to show the images thru??/

Does this sound intriguing.. If any one wants to see a photo let me know..
I think it will be a great atc swap...

Hi again ladies:
Why not have a match book style atc's I've done these too I usually create the match book matted on another piece of atc cardstock size for firmness.

Also I have done atc's that have a fold and when you open it up there is a pop up image inside....
I got photos of them, too if any one wants to see one...

how about unconventional ATCs? That would be an atc ( stamped of course) made of something other than paper!

( ie..acrylic, aetate, metal, wood, foam core, plastic, glass )

the possibilities are endless!

I thought of another one myself so I'm adding it here so I don't forget :confusion: lol.

Scene from a favorite movie, not just actor/actress but something that represents an actual scene of the movie.

Okay Alsmouse, I think you've created a monster here  :))

I'm assuming you are talking about a recycle theme Spideycindy. I actually do have some bits left over that didn't get used on your card. :p hee hee

Stacy, YEP, I did. But before you become too scared, PM me your Email address & I'll forward Spidey's work. You may re-think the 'green/recycle' idea once you see her card. & if any one else wants to see it, PM me & I'll forward it to you too. ~C8>

Email it to the big ole hairy black spidey type monster I think she knows how to upload now.

Since I have received many a swap from her already I have not doubt it's spectacular, I wasn't kidding when I said her Halloween card to me was going to be a permanent part of my decor each year.

Oh, I love swapping atc's!!! I like most of the ideas posted so far.
I think it would be neat to do atc's about ourselves...maybe with a pic of ourselves so we know what everyone looks like!

Some other subjects I'd love to see....

Humorous
Femme Fatale
Retro
risque or "off color"
happy hour
your favorite movie or at the movies
quotes
femme fatale (well, i like that one a lot)
let's get animal
ocean life

i could go on....

Great ideas Theresa! I'm definitely adding them to the list of future themes.

If you purchased any new stamps during the sale last weekend why don't you sign up for the current ATC Swap, we'd love to have you or anyone else that wants to play. Its an open theme, you just have to use an image you got from last weekend's virtual convention and then send one of the ATC's to that vendor as a thank you.

I'll keep an eye out....

I'm working on some atc's for a swap and they're due in a couple of weeks. At work we're getting ready to change over to a new billing system which is going to be crazy the next 2-3 weeks. I'll be doing my regular patient care, plus teaching other RT's to do billing, plus billing stuff they miss. I hate overtime but they begged me to work extra hours during this time...

So I'll jump in when I can...

I have made several ATC dolls. They are fun because you can fold them all up to the size of the ATC, then unfold them to make a doll!

Ok, here's a couple of idea that I've played in before... animals, Frida Kahlo, Mona Lisa, children, state flowers, monochromatic, abstract, Wild West, Tea Time etc These might be more collage type ATCs, or are you looking for only stamped?

Oh, I forgot... some silly or sarcastic ATCs would be fun too! Thos who have vlvs stamps could have a hey day making those!

With so much talk going on in the other boards about shadow stamping what about a shadow stamp atc? Just another idea as share and tell always helps when exploring a type of stamping project?

passports; envy's; fireworks; make believe; movable (something movable on them); etch-a-sketch; things on the beach; food (picnics); excuse cards...like when you child is out of school (I have seen some good ones!!).

These are just a few more ideas.

something from your part of the country...or somewhere where you have been and had fun; countries where you visited; pop-ups; or painted with glitter...the list could be endless....magic cards would be cool, too!

Everyone has come up with some of the most interesting ideas :applause: . Thank You!!

I saw one about favorite book. This could also be fav movie, TV show, Broadway play........ you get the idea.

With it being summer though just finding time to participate may be tough so I will hold off on the more complex ideas for a couple of months. What theme do you all want to do for Junes swap?

Inky Whiskers
05-24-2008, 05:00 PM
How about "What's your favorite thing to do in the summer?" It's open enough to give everybody room to play, yet focused enough to keep us from not knowing where to start. :D

yet focused enough to keep us from not knowing where to start

You and I are thinking along the same lines, I was thinking of "Fun in the Sun, except water". Too easy to fall to the cliche beach images instead of stretching our imaginations some to other things like the zoo, ice cream socials, museums (when it gets too hot), etc.

What does everyone else think? Suggestions here will not commit you to playing, I will start a new thread for the June ATC swap so feel free to brain storm with us.

Ok...so what's a magic card look like? At my house magic cards have monsters, weapons & power and are used to play a D&D style game. Somehow I don't think they're what you're talking about.

A magic card changes from black and white to a color picture as you slide a particular piece upwards, or sideways...whichever way the card is set up. They are cool!

So if we were to do a "song/singer" swap would you want it with or separted from "movies" theme?

coolcamaro
06-12-2008, 05:03 AM
Oh I think definitely seperate. Unless of course you do one for soundtracks.
I listen to a lot of music but don't watch too many movies or actual TV shows.

Theresagram
06-12-2008, 08:54 AM
Oh I think seperate too! That gives us one more category to have fun with! And it's so funny....I got the notice of this post last night while I was looking for some pics of one of my favorite singers so I could make a few atc's!!!!! How fortuitous!

coolcamaro
06-12-2008, 09:49 AM
I've been wanting to do some interpretive ATCs using songs as the inspiration. I think I could have fun with that.

Theresagram
06-12-2008, 10:01 AM
That sounds fun! I like using song titles/lyrics in my stuff.

monkeykeeper
06-12-2008, 07:25 PM
What about specific books, or movies, or stories. Like if it was Little Red Riding Hood you could do little girls, wolves, grannies, etc. Or if the theme was "Night at the Museum" you could do Romans, cowboys, dinosaurs, monkeys, presidents, etc. "Pretty in Pink" could be retro 80s or things that are pink, etc.

coolcamaro
06-13-2008, 10:25 AM
Don't mean to sound morbid or bring anybody down but how about an 'In Memorium' theme? I'm sure we all have someone close to us we've lost and miss a great deal. I find it theraputic.

wood veneer man
07-31-2008, 06:52 PM
