View Full Version : Wearing of the Green - Card Swap

Anyone interested in a St. Patrick's Day - green themed card exchange? I think St. Patty's Day gives us all lots of excuses to use stamps with an Irish theme or use any stamps and give them an Irish theme! Green ink not necessary but helps set the tone.
I will be glad to head this up if there is enough interest. Regular card exchange with a due date of March 20th? Sound like fun? Of course it does, so get your thinking cap out and let me know if you will be playing in the stamp box with us!

Are you talking a 1-4-1 with names drawn from the hat card swap, Ms. Rabbit? :D
p.s. I'm pretty well booked for March already, but I think I could squeeze one St. Pat's card in. :p

I'm in too but will have to stretch the imagination a bit. You'd think with an Irish last name I'm have lots of stamps along that theme but don't. I bet I can come up with something though, how about the rest of you....

Really simple card exchange. Sign up and I will draw names and post. Just one card for the swap because I know everyone is really busy. Of course I don't have any Irish stamps so I will have to make up some Irish story to go with my card! LOL!

One card will be good! But i'm planning for the "green" only, not being Irish, even on St. Patrick's Day. :) --If that's allowable in your swap, restingrabbit?

Be as Irish as you want or do not want. Green is good. In fact, green could be a lot more fun!

Hey, let's just go with green for the swap. If you have St. Patty's Day day theme stamps, fine, but GREEN is GREAT!

I'm in for an all green swap. I can always do green. ~C8>

Green works for me!
BTW...if you take a heart stamp, ink it green and stamp 3 or 4 of them in a circle with the points of the hearts just touching in the center, add a line between 2 of the hearts from the center outwards...you've made a shamrock or 4 leaf clover! :D

That's what I was thinking about doing. I was even considering "leaf pounding" except with clover.

I can do 1 for 1 and green; have too much 'baby' green so I should be able to cycle some into a 'green' swap.

What is clover pounding? Is it legal and done in daylight?
Pouring rain here but I have client work to do and need to get an alumni magazine done this weekend. I should be "carding" and I may well! Our corgi has such allergies right now - sneezing, snorting and ear scratching. More Benedryl! Poor little man!

I know how he feels! Spring has sprung in the lowlands of the North Wet and the trees are breeding like crazy making it tough to take a breath without snorking. I can't wait for Snottonwood season in May. :eyeroll:
I wanna know what leaf pounding is too and how would you do it with clover!?!
Inquiring Minds want to know! :D

Something tells me that that 'leaf pounding' stuff is illegal in all states but Oregon & California.:)) Why not clover?? ~C8>

Hey Nancy, :)
Stacy explained/described pounding in 'Easy Backgrounds' in the Tips and Tutorials forum. There are also a bunch of other interesting techniques there.

Already done  ?!
I'm still in the thinking stage too, not sure if I'll be able to "pound" clover or not. They are probably all wilted and frost bite now after 2 snow storms but I will come up with something......hmmmmm

Stacy, your card is in the mailbox!
The plow/snowblown 'hill' behind the mailboxes is going to take a while to melt; it doesn't get much sun during the day. The snowbanks at the end of our driveway are finally to the point we can see up and down the street again. The hill in front of the living room bay window is almost level with the indoor sill. And there is a storm coming this weekend that may be a mixture of just about everything. . .

Inky...got your lovely card! Thanks. It was great. Yours is one it's way, too. Even though it was done before the names were drawn, I didn't get it in the mail. Work got in my way and had to dig my way back out. Sorry. But, rest asured, it is on it's way now.

Hey Maralee!
I got your Green card & the stamp I just had to have for your March card swap card this week!!! Your March card will be on it's way before March is over.

I had a great time, thanks for hosting. Its good to stretch the ol imagination once in a while. Otherwise I wouldn't have figured out that an elf and a heart stamp could become a St. Pats. card. ;)
